Arrived in Lahore

Arrived safe and sound

Jim and I are waiting in the lobby of the gymkhana for Madeleine to get ready and then Ahsan will take us over to his house.

We were greeted at the airport by Ahsan, Jahanzib, Nazish, Taveer (Ahsan's father) and Alia (Ahsan's mother).  Everyone was very kind and welcoming. Actually, even at passport control a man beside us said "welcome to Pakistan".

In two cars we all drove to the gymkhana where we are staying in Lahore.  It's much bigger than I thought, it seems the photo from Wikipedia must have been taken a very long tome ago. Our rooms are beside one another, very luxurious and comfortable with very convenience. We got freshened up and joined Ahsan's family at their home for dinner. </>

The Khwaja family live in an area called model town across the road is the first cricket ground for girls which opened about a month ago.  They are a very close family who love to laugh and tease with one another.  We enjoyed a beautiful dinner with traditional and some non-traditional dishes ( though they did admit to making it somewhat milder than usual).  Ahasan has prepared an itinerary for the upcoming days including history, the countryside, shopping, a BBQ in Gugranwala,...

Below are the photos so far.  We'll keep in touch

Dale

Yes its me Dale......and this is where I take the time each night when I travel, to reflect.  Which is a modern way of saying I'm just trying to remember what I did from one day to the next.  Things can get muddled on holiday and a doumented blog can save on future fights...... especially when I can change the date in the database at will.
